How Many Krispy Kremes Could You Cram?

Nothing sweeter in the world than pulling in the Krispy Kreme parking lot and seeing the "Hot" sign lit up.

My sister treated me out to a weekend in civilization without the kids. The joy - dinner on the waterfront, shopping in Pittsburgh, snacks at Sheetz, and hot Krispy Kremes.

But look at the marketing ploy this particular Krispy Kreme uses:

All you can eat for $1.99. I feel certain that I could very well eat a dozen. That's a bargain for that price. How many do you think you could eat?

*As a side note, that would be a dozen, hot, glazed doughnuts. People I work with were skeptical of my claims that I could probably eat a dozen. And I replied that when they are hot, they melt in your mouth. Then, because the closest Krispy Kreme to us is a two-hour drive, someone said they had never had a hot Krispy Kreme doughnut. Did you hear me gasp? Our next field trip will be to a Krispy Kreme.

Hmmm... I don't know if I could eat a dozen, but I know I would sure try, lol! I am pretty sure my husband could though. If they were just the plain ones, I imagine I could eat five or six before I really started feeling sick.

I've never had a Krispy Kreme. I don't like glazed donuts. Now, if I ever had opportunity to eat a hot one, I would try it. That does sound good. But glaze donuts always taste kind of stale to me. I feel kind of "un-southern" admitting all of this though.

I am honestly afraid of how many I could eat. I love KK so much, but have never had one hot. I don't know if I'd like it---I like the glaze to be a little firm. But for scientific research, I would give it a try. I'm guessing I could eat 7 or 8.
For contrast, as I'm typing this, I'm eating freeze dried apple slices from Costco. 39 calories. It is NOT in any way even close to a donut.

When I first moved near to where there actually was a Krispy kreme, I was so excited. I had them a few times and decided they were just too sweet for me. And that's pretty darned sweet! Of course if somebody brought me one right now, I'm sure I'd eat it!

If you microwave one for about 4 seconds, they taste almost like the hot, fresh ones...? Our Krispy Kreme near us closed down, so, you know, we have to make do. lol.
