The Kids are Contagious, Let's Bake a Cake!

Frack was home yesterday and today with a high fever. The fever broke sometime this afternoon.

Because she was home sick with her Nana today and was feeling better, I let her help me in the kitchen to try a new recipe. Let's lick our fingers. Let's eat the batter.

What's that? Your mouth hurts? Let's look.

Oh my, blisters.

The call to the doctor confirmed - Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease.

Highly contagious.

Lovely.

The sad thing is that I was probably the carrier. Durn 6th graders.

The cake was good. So sad that I can't share it.

You can make your own at

My Sisters' Cucina's Blog posted this recipe for Aunt Daisy's Orange Juice Cake. Very easy and good warm. Mmmm.

The good news about this is I get to try my new popsicle molds!I bought these at Amazon for $7. They have other nifty shapes. I also bought these:

Are those not adorable? Frick wants a tractor cake for his birthday, so I thought these would go with the theme.

I just read your comment about homework over at Evi's place, Keeping Up With Yesterday, and I say KUDOS!!!

I wish more teachers thought like you! My son is in 4th grade and I am astounded at what they are teaching them ALREADY! They are already doing book reports! When I was in school, they didn't start book reports until Jr. High! Land's SAKE!

Sorry to hear about Frack. That's awful! I hope she feels better soon!

And those molds are adorable!!!

I think I shall bookmark you!
